Events | Bitkom Forum Open Source on 27.09. in Erfurt
STACKIT takes part in this year’s Bitkom Forum Open Source in Erfurt under the motto “Open Source. Shape together! #bfoss23”. Together with other company representatives, experiences and ideas on open source are to be shared and discussed within this framework.
The background
Collaboration in communities has become an important driver of digital innovation in recent years: Source code is shared and collaborated on within companies in inner-source projects and across company boundaries in open-source projects. In this way, many successful initiatives have been and are being launched that further develop technologies and applications.
Transparent exchange is important here: Those who share ideas and experience openly can solve tasks more quickly themselves, achieve progress more quickly and also support others in the process. This promotes collaboration, mutual understanding and tolerance within a community – and even more: it creates an atmosphere that encourages people to get involved and become and remain a community. Open cooperation at eye level is a decisive factor for the success of open source.
About Bitkom
Founded in 1999, Bitkom today represents more than 2,000 member companies – including around 1,000 high-performing SMEs, over 500 innovative tech startups, nearly half of the 40 DAX companies and many other global players.
Members provide software and IT services, telecommunications or Internet services, manufacture devices and components, are active in digital media or the network economy, or are otherwise part of the digital economy. In addition, more and more companies that currently want to digitally develop their evolved business models are joining Bitkom across all industries.
Bitkom’s overriding goal is to make Germany a leading digital location, to drive forward the digital transformation of the German economy and administration, to strengthen digital sovereignty and to achieve broad social participation in digital developments.
Efforts here are about accelerating the expansion of gigabit networks and digital infrastructures for energy and transport, for commerce and smart homes, for cities and regions. It is about political support for data-driven business models, protection and security, platform models, disruptive technologies and Work 4.0. And it is about education for the digital world: in schools, universities and – increasingly important – new forms of lifelong learning.
